Security integrators, project managers, and procurement teams working in Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe specify bulletproof roller shutters for one reason: the opening is the weakest point in any physical security perimeter. CBX manufactures certified bulletproof roller shutters in Spain and supplies projects in over 100 countries — from bank branches and government buildings to embassies, luxury retail, and critical infrastructure.

What Makes a Roller Shutter Bulletproof

The difference between a standard security shutter and a bulletproof one is not marketing — it is certification. A bulletproof roller shutter has been tested under EN 1522 against live ammunition at defined velocities and distances. The slat profile, ballistic fill material, guide system, and frame anchoring are all part of the certified assembly. Changing any element without re-testing breaks the certification.

CBX shutters are manufactured with high-strength extruded aluminum alloy (6063 T5 — Al, Mg, Si, Titanium) reinforced with ballistic material in a double-wall 50×15 mm profile. The guides are 100×40 mm reinforced structural profiles with nylon inserts requiring no lubrication. The result is a system that absorbs and dissipates ballistic impact energy across the full curtain surface — not just at the point of contact.

Certified Models — Three Protection Levels

CBX offers three bulletproof roller shutter lines, each covering a different risk profile. All are manufactured in Spain and available for international supply and installation.

Securbaix is the entry-level high-security range for commercial and industrial applications requiring certified anti-burglary resistance. The Securbaix BL model reaches RC4 under EN 1627 — tested against experienced attackers using power tools for 30 minutes. It is the standard specification for retail, logistics facilities, and commercial premises where burglary resistance is the primary requirement and ballistic protection is not yet mandated.

Diamond BL is the ballistic shutter for environments where the threat profile includes firearms. It carries FB4-S certification under EN 1522 — resistance to .44 Magnum caliber — combined with RC5 anti-burglary protection under EN 1627 and Class 5 wind resistance under EN 12424 (1,000 Pa). It also holds NIJ 0108.01 (Part 1 & 2, Level III-A) and UL 752 Level 2 certifications, making it the correct specification for projects with North American or international government requirements. Standard finish includes crystal silver anti-Molotov cocktail coating. Maximum dimensions: 7,000 mm wide × 9,000 mm high. The Diamond BL is the most specified CBX model for banks, jewellery stores, currency exchange offices, and consulates.

Diamond BL X-Treme is the highest-certification roller shutter in the CBX range and the only rolling shutter in the world certified to EXR5-NS under EN 13123-2 for explosion resistance. It combines FB6-NS ballistic protection under EN 1522 — resistance to assault rifle ammunition including AK-47 7.62mm — with RC6 anti-burglary resistance under EN 1627 and Class 5 wind resistance. The X-Treme Blast variant adds EXR5-NS explosion resistance. The X-Treme MAX combines all certifications: FB6-NS ballistic, RC6 intrusion, EXR5-NS blast, E60 fire resistance, and Class 5 wind load. This is the specification for embassies, military facilities, government command centres, and critical infrastructure where no compromise on protection level is acceptable.

Who Specifies CBX Bulletproof Shutters

Security integrators and project developers across Latin America, the Middle East, and Europe specify CBX shutters because the certification documentation is complete and the manufacturing process is auditable. CBX works directly with security consultants, architects, and procurement teams during the specification phase — providing technical datasheets, certification copies, and project-specific dimensional calculations before any purchase order is issued.

Typical project types by sector: financial institutions and currency exchange offices requiring FB4 minimum under local regulation; government and diplomatic facilities requiring FB6-NS and RC6 with explosion resistance documentation; luxury retail and jewellery requiring ballistic protection without visual compromise; critical infrastructure including data centres, energy facilities, and petrochemical plants requiring combined blast, ballistic, and fire resistance in a single system.

Supply and Integration

CBX supplies bulletproof roller shutters for international projects with full technical documentation packages — including CE marking, test reports, and installation specifications. Motor configurations cover single-phase and three-phase tubular or lateral systems calculated for the specific weight and dimensions of each project, with voltage compatibility from 100–127V to 480–600V at 50–60 Hz. All systems integrate with access control platforms, alarm systems, and building management infrastructure.

Minimum lead times and logistics for Latin American, Middle Eastern, and European projects are confirmed at the quotation stage. CBX has supplied projects in over 100 countries and maintains distribution and installation partnerships in key markets.

Request a Technical Specification

If you are specifying bulletproof roller shutters for a project — whether at tender stage, design development, or procurement — CBX provides technical documentation, certification copies, and project-specific quotations. The starting point is the opening dimensions, the required protection level, and the country of installation.
